In all of these clips the music has been edited down but the commercials and links are complete unless the original tape was fragmented. They are in MP3 format.
Bits and pieces of Big L, probably from different dates, including TW and a news broadcast. 2 minutes 24 seconds, 354KB.
This was recorded on Sunday 17th May 1970. The jammers had not yet caught up with them. Clip includes a station ident. 2 minutes 27 seconds, 361 KB.
Recorded later the same day, still jam free. Includes Peace/UNICEF promo. 5 minutes 8 seconds, 754 KB.
Recorded on the 20th February 1971. This clip includes the final moments of the test broadcast presented by an unidentified DJ (Dave Rogers?). It also includes the opening anouncements from Victor Peli, Alan West and Steve Merike. 8 minutes 16 seconds, 1,213 KB.
This clip features a station ident and a Jan van Veen promo for the RNI mobile disco. Confusingly this clip begins with Caroline by the Fortunes. 1 minute 52 seconds, 275 KB.
A mixture of fast moving English and Dutch. 2 minutes 13 seconds, 327KB.
Opening of the "Super Hit 50" show on 27th June 1971. Crispian became later Jay Jackson and is pictured here on board the Ross Revenge 13 years later. The opening jingle sounds rough but the quality gets better. 1 minute 54 seconds, 280 KB.
This recording was made on Easter Sunday in the hope that there would be some celebrations for Caroline's 22nd birthday. In fact no mention was made of it. It is interesting to hear the music they were playing then, it may surprise you. 3 minutes 20 seconds, 489KB.
This clip is edited down from a recording made on December 7 1986, Laser had been off the air for over a year and returned on this day. Radio Caroline had taken over the 558KHz frequency Laser previously occupied. Laser returned on Caroline's old 576KHz frequency with its Hot Hits format (see below). 4 minutes 48 seconds, 705KB.
This clip was sent to me by Patrick Ambergen so thanks to him. It was recorded in the evening so there is a little fading but you can hear what Jessie was saying, 59 seconds, 948 KB.
Recorded just after the Dave James Radio Caroline clip above, the reception on 576KHz was not as good. This clip contains a lot of advertising, one of the commercials for the roadshow was played twice so I have edited the repeat. 12 minutes 13 seconds, 1,791KB.
